MICHELLE VODRAZKA
Owner, General Manager & Monty's Mom

Michelle is an internationally recognized personal trainer, fitness instructor, nutritionist, with over 25 years of experience in the health and fitness industry. She is a national fitness competitor and best-selling author of three healthy eating cookbooks. She has presented to audiences and appeared in media outlets nation-wide and owned and operated several successful small fitness businesses over the last two decades. She then spent ten years working in business planning before taking on the role of National Wellness Coordinator for Public Safety, where she built a nationally recognized wellness program. While working for the government, she continued to run a successful nutrition and fitness training business, providing physical training, nutrition, freelance writing and consultation services.

JAMIE RAYCROFT
Chief Support Officer, General Morale Booster, Monty's Dad

Jamie has a medical background with over 25 years of experience in the hospital and military setting. He spent the past 15 years providing education and physical training to federal entities including the RCMP, CSIS, the University of Ottawa, CBSA and the Ottawa Police. Jamie also holds numerous training qualifications in the fitness industry in personal training, sports exercise therapy, First aid and CPR, and International Trauma and Life Support.  Jamie also specializes in small business marketing and has a proven track record in managing personnel and coaching others in achieving personal goals while overseeing overall corporate success. Jamie has a passion for helping others build their mental and physical resilience so they can reach their full potential.

STEVE C.
Front Desk Staff, Personal Trainer

 

Steve worked in the high tech sector for 38 years and continues to be an avid golfer and curler. Throughout that time, he stayed fit as a loyal member of AFC before deciding to join the team in 2015 as front desk staff. In 2018, he took his passion for fitness to the next level by becoming a certified personal trainer in order to fulfil his dream of helping people of all ages embark on their own fitness journeys. He believes in encouraging people to start where they are and showing them that they can do more than they think they can.

KRIS L.
Front Desk Staff

Kris comes from a dance background of fifteen years, both performance and competitive, as well as teaching. This early introduction into movement created an enthusiasm for health and fitness, and has since completed the Canfit Pro personal training course as well as certified with MOSSA as a group fitness instructor. Since joining the AFC team in 2015 she has participated in 10k runs, competed in bodybuilding and powerlifting. As a coach, her main focus is on longevity and excellence in effective and safe movement, and injury prevention. She believes that all fitness levels can benefit from individualized strength and conditioning, mobility and positive mindset. Kris is passionate about pairing fitness with physical health, and is currently studying human biochemistry and physiology with Queens University. She is excited to help people realize their potential in health and fitness, and is proud to help create a community of support at AFC! 

LYNNE J.
Personal Trainer, Pilates Instructor

Lynne is a certified Personal Trainer, Pilates Instructor, and Core Confidence Specialist, who has been in the health and fitness industry for over 30 years. She teaches the Hypopressive method for core restoration, as well as a Kundalini and Restorative Yoga. Lynne specializes in functional fitness for the 50+ population, restoring / retraining the core for optimal pelvic floor function, recovery and sport specific training.  She believes in empowering her clients to thrive, with the strength and intention to be fully present in their lives. Lynne places a strong emphasis on functional movement and the mind/body connection in her client's training.

JESSE C.
Personal Trainer

Jesse’s passion for fitness started early in his life. He always enjoyed long distance running and biking but excessively long cardio sessions, poor lifestyle and nutrition habits started to show weaknesses in his body and started Jesse on a journey to discover what the human body actually needs to heal and function at its best. After realizing the benefits of how lifestyle changes, proper movement, nutrition and training principles could impact his life, Jesse was certain that he wanted to use this knowledge to help other people achieve their optimal health and performance. Jesse's clientele are pre/post natal, general health, strength and conditioning, weight loss and athletes.  Jesse is a certified personal trainer and also holds many certifications in pre/post natal training, nutrition, strength training and working with an aging population to list a few. 

ALISON D.
Personal Trainer

Alison has been a personal trainer at the AFC since 2007. Following her own weight loss success, she felt compelled to help others that were living through the same struggles she experienced throughout her life by passing on her knowledge of healthy living and weight loss. Starting her journey at over 300lbs, Alison checked off an item on her bucket list by competing in a figure competition in June 2013. She specializes in helping clients build self-confidence while assisting them on their weight loss journey,

PETRA S.
Stability Ball Conditioning Instructor

Petra moved from Germany to Vancouver Island in 1989 and wound up in the Ottawa area three years later. She has a background in personal training and has been teaching fitness for over 25 years and offers exercise programs for all age groups to build strength, balance, and confidence. She specializes in muscle strength, back problems and balance, and offers exercise programs to strengthen the core and the mind. Petra is also a Reiki practitioner and a firm believer in a natural approach to disease prevention for people and animals. Petra and her husband are also owners of Alpenblick Farm which produces a variety of health food products, including organic grass-fed meats and cheeses. Her background in farming and nutrition has given her an excellent understanding of how to eat healthier, heal the gut, and improve digestion and joint function in a natural way. 

ANGELINA A.
Personal Trainer, Kettlebell Instructor, Yoga Teacher

 

Angelina has been a trainer for over 20 years. From children to seniors she is also a Crossfit coach, Crossfit kids coach, and Olympic lifting coach all through Crossfit. She is also highly trained in kettlebells from Agatsu to kettlebell training academy to the World kettlebell club. She also has competed in the sport and holds a rank of Candidate master of sport. She also has over 500++ hours of yoga training, and facilitates yoga teacher training, yoga retreats and so much more. From Canadian soldiers, junior A hockey players, young children to seniors fall prevention she has you covered. All classes are informative, educational and fun and guaranteed to bring your spirit up!! 

VALERIE C.
Zumba Instructor

Valerie discovered Zumba five years ago after attending a fitness convention in Toronto. She immediately fell in love with the program and attended classes regularly. Most recently, she became a Certified Zumba Instructor allowing her to share her love of dance with a wide range of people. She loves working with all ages and fitness levels. Valerie believes through dance and fitness, you can get and stay healthy both physically and mentally. Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass, it's about learning to DANCE in the rain.

STEVE D.
Interval Training and Youth Conditioning Instructor

 

Steve has spent a career in promoting fitness and healthy living to the people of Almonte. With close to 30 years experience in education he has worked with thousands of students in the fields of athletics. As a father he understands the importance of introducing and promoting the benefits of regular activity to our youth in a safe and inclusive environment. His classes for both youth and adults are a combination of circuit and HIIT training designed to increase endurance and lactate threshold through an ever changing variety of intensity and rep schemes.

MONTY R.
Chief Security Officer, Member Retention Specialist

Monty has 14 (doggie) years of training in family dynamics and furry interventions. She graduated with honours in the internationally recognized Canine Sleuth Training  with a speciality in undercover operations. She is an expert in covert entries and exits and has a phD in human interventions. She has presented internationally on the power of the 'cuteness factor' in the ongoing motivation of human behaviour. She exercises outdoors daily to obtain her RDI of vitamin D, and believes in a balanced diet, consisting 80% of nutritious dog food, with 20% room for indulgences, such as dog treats provided by AFC members, donuts and the occasional dinner scraps covertly provided to her by her brothers and sisters.

Saturday: 8 AM - 3 PM
